About Us

Matthew O’Connor - Founder

I spent nearly a decade in newsrooms learning how stories are built, how to ask hard questions, how to find the truth, and how to communicate with clarity.

Today, I help organizations do the same.

My career has taken me from journalism into senior communications roles with Fortune 500 companies, including PETRONAS and Imperial Oil (ExxonMobil), to leading professional services firm Ernst & Young, international not-for-profit The Red Cross, and domestically with the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers and the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association. I've also worked closely with the Tsuut'ina Nation and the Tsuut'ina Nation Police Service. Across these roles, I've led communications efforts both domestically and internationally.

I believe effective communications start with strategic market research and a deep understanding of your audience, so you can speak to where the conversation is already happening. Foundational to my approach is building strong, meaningful relationships. That's true whether I'm advising on government relations, partnering with First Nations, or guiding multinational corporations through complex issues.

Compassion is one of my core values, and I am unwilling to compromise on it. This has made me a trusted voice in developing strategies and training leaders to communicate with authenticity.

When not working with clients, I can be found with my wife, two boys, and Aussiedoodle, or in the kitchen, trying to impress my family with my latest culinary passion.
